Jim the starter stopped by on the front to see how I was doing and on the back to apologize for the fact he sent me out without knowing that the back nine greens had been top-dressed with sand. Overall, a nice mix that makes the course fun to play.
There are a few forced carries and blind shots, doglegs both ways and 2-3 lengthy four pars. A interesting and challenging set of holes, reportedly replicating mostly links-style holes in Great Britain. Although I can't recall seeing a tree on the course, the rough varies from 'don't even bother looking' to 'I wish I weren't here' to 'I can make bogey from here'. Fairways are mostly generous, but all are lush and well-tended. The course is in great shape from tee boxes through the greens. There were three cars in the lot when I came early as a single and I was pleased to take the offer to go out alone before the morning rush. My family had the best day and my grandkids passed out on the ride home! Storybook Land is a great day trip for the family. It is very clean and the staff manning the rides are attentive. The park is laid out nicely with nice wide paths for strollers, seating along the way, tall shaded trees, beautiful landscape of flowers. Then there are storybook buildings like Goldilocks and theThree Bears where my grandkids love pushing a button to hear the story told with mechanical animated puppets. Good selection of rides from gentle train rides to crazy spinning rides. There is height restrictions on rides but many rides allow an adult to accompany. Re-entering park is allowed with hand stamped. They have cafe to purchase food and plenty of tables for picnicking. Otherwise there is a large dirt parking lot on the side. Got there early and was able to park in front. Bought tickets on-line and check in was a breeze.
Took grandkids, 3 years old and 18 months old on a Wednesday. Family amusement park that is reasonably priced with plenty to do and see. Hidden Gem only 20 minutes from Atlantic City for little kids and parents.
